Policies

Group Classes

We can only give a full refund or change your registration date if you notify us at least 5 days prior to your Orientation/first class. No refunds will be granted after that time.

If you are unable to attend a class, please catch up by studying the notes sent via email and contact us with any questions between classes. You may book a private make-up class with an additional fee.

Private / Semi-Private Training

We will give a full refund or change your appointment date if you notify us at least 48 hours prior to your first session. 24 hours notice is required for all other appointments. No refunds or date changes will be available after that time. Pre-paid lessons must be completed within 90 days unless arranged in writing and signed by both parties. After 90 days, we will make 3 attempts at contact via email or phone before the lessons are considered forfeited.

Phone Consultations

We will give a full refund or change your appointment date if you notify us at least 24 hours prior to your consultation. No refunds or date changes will be available after that time.

Workshops and Seminars

Terms and conditions will vary based on the individual event. Please see event details.

Socialization Classes & Playtimes

We can only give a full refund if you cancel 24 hours after booking & payment. No refunds are granted for 'donation only' classes/socials.

If you are unable to attend a socialization class or playtime, come to the next available one! No big deal. Be sure to cancel your booking in our online system so that another student can join us. You can do this up to 12 hours before the class starts. If the class is missed without the booking being cancelled, it will be considered a missed class in your package.

Medical Emergencies, Illness and Spay/Neuter

If there is a medical emergency that prevents your dog from attending a class, please notify us as early as possible and we will do our best to make alternate arrangements.

If there is a medical emergency that prevents your dog from continuing in a class, a partial credit may be given for the missed classes, to be used towards a future class. A $25 administration fee will apply. A note from your Veterinarian will be required in order to receive the credit.

If your dog is due to be spayed or neutered during a series, arrange for the surgery on the day after class so that he/she has 6 full days to recuperate and can return on a modified activity plan the following week, or schedule the surgery once the classes are complete.

Photo & Video Release

Client understands that sessions may be photographed and/or video recorded and used for teaching, review, and marketing purposes.

Agreement to Hold Harmless & Assumption of Risk

The client understands that attendance at a dog training session may pose some risk to themselves, members of their family, their guests, and their dog(s) and expressly assume the risk of any damage or injury (to themselves, their dog(s), and/or any minors attending a dog training session with them) incurred as a result of a dog training session conducted by or on behalf of  Toronto Centre for Canine Education. If clients choose to bring children to the session, they will be responsible for their care and appropriate supervision.

To minimize all risks, the client agrees to disclose to the trainer any danger or sensitivities their dog(s) may present. The registrant will immediately inform the trainer of any situations that may provoke fear or aggression in their dog(s) and be responsible for avoiding those situations. In consideration of their participation in a dog training session or sessions conducted by or on behalf of Toronto Centre for Canine Education, the client, on behalf of themselves and any minors attending the dog training session(s) with them, waive, release, and agree to hold harmless Toronto Centre for Canine Education and any and all associated employees, volunteers, agents, insurers, and successors from any and all causes of actions, claims, demands, losses, injuries, and damages of any kind which may be sustained by them or their dog(s) in connection with the dog training session.
